In my opinion there are 4 must have plugins for wordpress blogger before he writes his first post. I am recommending this based on my personal experience. Before I start writing on a new blog, I activate these plugins.

1) Akismat: Nothing irritates me like spam. Please don’t tolerate spam. Normally this comes built in your wordpress install. Just activate it. For the latest version download here.

2) Autometa: The plugin author calles it “Automatic Meta & Technorati Tags for WordPress.” I simply like it for the meta tags it pulls it from my articles. Its is a great SEO tool. For the latest version download here.

3) All in One SEO Pack: This provides SEO functions of our sites. For the latest version download here.

4) Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator for WordPress: It generates a XML-Sitemap compliant sitemap that is supported by Ask.com, Google, YAHOO and MSN Search. It also helps in modifying your robots.txt file. Download here
