It is said that “nice boys come last.” So does Adbrite.

Adbrite is normally used by bloggers who get banned by Adsense. I signed up for Adbrite when I got banned by Adsense (the first and the only time). You can read about it in the post My experience with Adsense. I placed the codes after their approval and had frustrating long wait for ads to be filled up. That was in 2007. In January 2010, when my client signed up (yeah! yeah!, he got banned by google), the ad inventory got filled up very fast. He still had an anxious moment once when he saw no ad on his site.

In 2007, Adbrite used to have some pathetic ads. The most proliferating ad was some pinkish banner with cartoonish flowers. Frankly, I did not like their quality, so I kept rejecting them.

Not happy with my earnings, I tried so many ad networks. Adbrite used taken off and put back on my websites every time I fail with other networks.

In 2009, I got my adsense approved via a different email id and under different name. So, I chucked out Adbrite again.

Few months back, I got back Adbrite alternating with google adsense. It languishes on the footers of my websites. It generates CPM as the traffic on my website increased. I am still not happy with the quality of advertisements they serve. Actually, what they serve is good, but does not fit the theme of my website except one. The one site it fits has affiliate programs and I want no competition.

How do you treat your Adbrite account? What is your experience with them?

Updated June 2010

Adbrite formally closed my account and asked me to join some ad network which is its sister network.
